♫ What a difference a dosage makes! ♫
It will be no surprise to many that Hebrart's Rose has always been my go-to Rose. When I heard that there was going to be an extra-brut version I could not wait for the release! Such a contrast between the two wines yet there is just 3gms difference between the two wines.
The Brut version as always has lifted aromatics of strawberry, cream, vibrant white floral notes and a brightness of fruit which you just can't get enough of. Simply one of the best rose nv's today. What a strikiing difference with the extra-brut version! Aromatics quite muted in comparison and needing more time in the glass to open up. As the extra-brut sits in the glass it slowly opens to reveal dark red fruits, power, structure and length- wow! Seriously I could serve this with venison!
It's interesting that with the Brut version (6.5gm/ltr) the chardonnay is definately to the fore (60% of the blend) whereas with the extra-brut (3.5gm/ltr) it is all about the pinot noir.
Honestly love them both but so different I could not pick a favourite!
