Les Blanchiens: The jewel of Pouillon’s vineyards.

This single mono-cru in Mareuil is planted with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The cuvée was formerly known as ‘Fleur de Mareuil’ and is an equal blend of both Pinot and Chardonnay. Separate vinification for both varieties occurs in oak barriques (10% new) using only indigenous yeast, and each receives a further 10-12 months maturation in barrel with battonage. The nose shows lifted toasty aromas, while the palate is rich and full with exotic notes and spice. It displays incredible length, complexity and power without being heavy or unbalanced. It is bottled without filtration or dosage to showcase the vineyard to its fullest and purest. Being the ‘flagship’ of the range, production is extremely limited.
