Vintage

Traditionally non-vintage champagnes are the best expression of a house style. A vintage wine however should reflect all the personality, spirit and circumstances of each particular year interpreted by each producer’s unique, individual style. Champagne has the most marginal climate of all wine producing regions. No two vintages are ever the same and each year it is these varying conditions that can make champagne so fascinating. Historically vintage champagnes were only produced three or four times a decade. These days’ vintage champagnes are produced much more regularly. It may be due to better viticulture, perhaps global warming, but it seems we can now enjoy the experience much more frequently.
