Duménil are specialists in vintage champagnes. The meticulous selection of frut and their belief in long ageing on the lees for the greatest expression of the year shines through with every release. Only produced in years they feel meet their standards, creating brilliant wines in years where some other producers have faltered. (2005 & 2007 instantly come to mind).

The 2007 shows lifted aromatics of toast, grilled nuts and yeasty notes leading to a full-bodied, rich palate balanced by refreshing mineral acidity. Multi-layered and weighty yet retains elegance and finesse. The wine has spent an extended period on the yeast lees (10 + years) for added complexity

A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir & 20% Meunier from the premier cru villages of Chigny-les Roses, Rilly-la Montagne & Ludes (Montagne des Reims) 5gm/ltr dosage

There is an elegant beauty to the 2007 season on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, and while chardonnay is rare as the lead varietal in these parts, Duménil plays it eloquently to capture this mood. Seven years on lees has drawn out pronounced complexity of buttered toast and roast almonds, which unites seamlessly with the preserved lemon and pear flavours of chardonnay. The lowest dosage of the range is well gauged for this style, highlighting the lingering lemon juice acidity of these cool slopes. Classy, confident and well crafted. 93pts Tyson Stelzer 'Champagne Guide 2020-2021'

"The nose is charming and mature with a buttery, yeasty, meaty Chardonnay style. Filigreed bubbles emerge and unfold onto a lively palate with robust acidity and a long finish. Drinking window 2018-2022 -  91pts  Decanter
